Introduction of the course

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), NCB offers Contact Training Programmes for laboratory professionals and technical personnel, providing intensive hands-on training in standard laboratory testing and advanced characterization techniques related to cement, concrete and allied materials. The programmes cover physical testing of cement, chemical analysis of cement, testing of pozzolanic and supplementary cementitious materials, specialized tests on cement and cement composites, concrete testing, equipment calibration and other laboratory practices. Participants may also receive practical exposure to advanced analytical techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric Analysis–Differential Thermal Analysis (TG-DTA) and other microscopic and material characterization studies. The training is designed to strengthen participants’ practical skills in laboratory testing, interpretation of test results, operation of laboratory equipment and quality control, with emphasis on standard test methods and good laboratory practices. These programmes can be customized and conducted based on mutual discussion and the specific training needs of the participants or organization, and may be organized for individual participants or groups.
